ENGLISH TUTORING THROUGH CARDBOARD PUPPET THEATRE
To Get ESL Students Ready for Storytelling
Learn English Through CPT
English tutoring through cardboard puppet theatre is a method for teachers to apply to their English Lessons, to make learning sound fun and easy!
Its purpose is to teach English or any language as a "living thing" - as a tool, students could use to their daily life. Hence, starting with the closest thing to life, beside role-playing of-course, which is a theatre - where students are able to express themselves, and to basically get creative with their own work, that in the end, their creativeness finds its way to become a part of their lives.

To whom can this be applied?
This teaching approach can applied for primary and elementary EFL students or native speakers. Teachers can use this approach when tutoring a small group of students with learning difficulties (LD) or with special educational needs (SEN). Keep in mind that the more number of learners you have, the bigger the size of your theatre should be. A projector can be used also for students to watch a story, but preferably use physical materials to enhance results.

How can I apply this to my students?
First of all, this method makes learning much more fun and easy than using a pen and book. Second, even though you need a lot to prepare, know that you only do this once. you can present your materials to your students or you can show them through a computer projector of the video you made. The important thing is that your students create their OWN theatre with their OWN stories at the end. At last, the most essential part is that this method improves the student's oral skills - it enhances their speaking, listening skills, expands their vocabulary list, and gramma knowledge is in the scene as well.
